Gary & Mary Becker

Gary Becker retired in August 2004 from the practice of law.  For the previous twenty years, Gary was founder and managing partner of the Becker Law Office, with locations in Louisville and Lexington Kentucky.  Gary is a member of a number of professional legal associations, and has also served several civic and religious organization in Louisville and Santa Barbara.

Gary and his wife, Mary, are involved in social justice issues and both serve on the national board of JustFaith Ministries Inc. (www.justfaith.org), a not for profit that designs and distributes justice formation programs.  They both also serve on the board of Fonkoze USA (www.fonkoze.org), a microfinance/literacy program in Haiti that serves primarily the poor women merchants at more than thirty locations in Haiti.  The Beckers are members of the capital campaign cabinet for La Casa de Maria Retreat Center, and are co-chairs of the major gifts sub-committee.  In addition Gary and Mary have trained as spiritual directors and Gary serves on the board of Stillpoint: The Center for Christian Spirituality.  Mary currently serves as the coordinator of the final year of Stillpoint’s training program.
