Joanne Moran
Joanne Moran, Ph.D., Psy.D., is a practicing Clinical Psychologist and
Psychoanalyst. She has been in practice in Pasadena for over 30 years,
and
still maintains a small practice there as well as in Santa Barbara.
After
graduating from Pepperdine University, she originally was a School
Psychologist, performing assessments to qualify students for various
special
needs programs. Following that, she worked for 5 years with the Orange
County Probation Department as a Staff Psychologist, conducting
psychological evaluations on juvenile offenders and their families. She
served as an expert witness in Juvenile Court, providing psychological
evaluations and making recommendations to the court regarding placement
of
minors following serious offenses, or placement of minors who had been
abused or neglected. She then moved into private practice and became
Director of Psychological Services with a 20 physician medical group,
and
was Clinical Supervisor of other team members and interns. Through years
of
practice, she has moved to a more holistic treatment program of body,
mind,
and spirit and subsequently got certified as a Yoga teacher. She has
served
on the Board of Union Station, a homeless shelter in Pasadena, and also
led
a Dual Diagnosis substance abuse group for that facility. She has also
been
on the Outreach Committee of All Saints Church. Her philosophical focus
is
"empowering others through our own gifts".
